The public lessons are open to all who play string instruments such as viola, violin, and cello (professionals and amateurs alike), as well as music enthusiasts. The concerts are recommended not only for music lovers but for everyone.
About Activity
Renowned violist Nobuko Imai and three other world-class viola players will offer a seven-day masterclass at the Symphony Hall in the countryside. Students aspiring to become professional violists, as well as young violists already active as professionals and selected from around the world, will participate in these lessons. The program will culminate in a concert by the students and a recital by the instructors, both held at the same hall.
Some parts of the lessons will be open to the public, and free “outreach concerts” by the students will be held at various locations throughout the city, encouraging interaction with local residents.

Tambasasayama International Viola Masterclass Executive Committee
The Tambasasayama International Viola Masterclass Executive Committee, led by world-renowned violist Nobuko Imai and three other internationally acclaimed violists, hosts an annual event in mid-September. Around twelve selected students and young violists from around the world participate in approximately ten days of lessons at the Symphony Hall in the Countryside. The program culminates in performances by the students and instructors at the same hall. Some lessons are open to the public, and free outreach concerts by the students are held at various locations throughout the city, fostering interaction with local residents.
