About Activity
This festival is held to pray for safety and peace within the community as well as a bountiful harvest of local crops. In the morning, there will be a children's portable shrine procession, followed by shrine rituals. At the shrine grounds, guests can enjoy offerings of red rice, seafood, mountain produce, and local delicacies. In 2025, in commemoration of the World Expo, a performance of Tanba Sasayama Kagura (sacred dance) will be held at the dance hall, followed by a children’s candy toss and a mochi (rice cake) toss with prizes. Prizes will include local produce such as black edamame and vegetables. Alongside the shrine festival, the Tanba Tannan Taste Festival will be held, offering seasonal events to enjoy the autumn. Yahashira Shrine enshrines five male and three female deities.

During the Yahashira Shrine Festival, visitors are welcomed with a mochi-toss following the shrine ceremony. In the morning, a children's portable shrine parade makes its way through the neighborhood. In the summer, the Amikake Summer Festival, enjoyed by all generations, is organized by a dedicated committee with support from local businesses. In winter, the youth division creates a magical illumination display in front of the Amikake Community Center. These events enhance Amikake's charm and foster interaction among residents.
