Tambasasayama World Expo: Half a Year to Go! Everyone Gather Around!
Half a Year Until the Tambasasayama World Expo!
On Saturday, October 5th, the pre-event for the Tamba Sasayama International Expo, titled “Tamba Sasayama International Expo - Half a Year to Go! Everyone Gather!”, was held at the Sasayama Children’s Museum in the Taki District. This event served as a precursor to the Tamba Sasayama International Expo, which is set to run from April 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026. Various activities, including cheerleading performances, balloon releases, and lotus seed sowing, were held to mark the occasion.
At the venue, a special stage was set up at the Sasayama Children’s Museum, where notable figures such as the Mayor of Tamba Sasayama and the Chairman of the Expo’s Executive Committee took the stage. Additionally, the mascots “Maruino” and “Mamerin” made appearances, adding to the excitement and making the event a lively and memorable one.
Cheerleading and Bike Sharing for the Future
After greetings from the Mayor and the Organizing Committee Chairperson, a dance performance by adorable children took place. The audience and staff were captivated by their spirited dancing. On this day, an electric-assist bike sharing system, utilizing a smartphone app, was also introduced. Mr. Murakami from Highlander, the developer of the system, shared his hopes: “I wish for our town to embrace bicycles more, like in other countries.”
Additionally, bicycle helmet racks to be installed in the city as part of the Expo were crafted by the Electronic Civil Engineering Department, Construction Course, at Sasayama Industrial High School. A representative student delivered a greeting on stage. The lively performances by children and the introduction of new technologies brought a sense of a bright future.
Filling Tambasasayama City with Flowers
As the event neared its conclusion, everyone released eco-friendly balloons into the sky. Under the clear blue sky, the balloons, in two colors symbolizing Tambasasayama’s rich nature, soared high. It was a moment when everyone’s hearts united through the Expo.
Finally, all participants planted lotus seeds in a field near the Sasayama Children’s Museum. The sight of the pink flowers blooming next spring is already a delightful prospect. This event brought the joy of the Tambasasayama World Expo and the charm of Tambasasayama City to life, showcasing a future full of natural beauty and fun.
