Pre-event
The 23rd Tambasasayama Chrysanthemum Exhibition
From November 1 to 14, the 23rd Tambasasayama Chrysanthemum Exhibition will be held at the San-no-maru Square in the Tambasasayama Castle Ruins.
This year, the event has moved to San-no-maru Square, offering a beautiful view of chrysanthemums with the castle to the north and the government offices to the south.
The Chrysanthemum Exhibition was first held in 1925 in what was then Sasayama Town, marking 99 years this year. Next year, during the Tambasasayama International Expo, we will celebrate its 100th anniversary.
On Tuesday, November 12, we will hold an awards ceremony in the Tiger Room of the Grand Hall, a first for this event.
We warmly invite you to join us!
Approximately 300 pots of beautiful chrysanthemums, mainly medium chrysanthemums called "seedling chrysanthemums," will decorate the venue. The tradition of growing chrysanthemums in the Tanbasasayama region is old and has a history of over 250 years. Among them, ``Chrysanthemum seedlings'' are said to have been received by Tadayoshi Aoyama, the former lord of the Sasayama domain, from the Edo shogunate and distributed to his vassals, and are loved by the people of this region.
